American Chicken ChopsueyIngredientsBoneless chicken; 1/2 kg
cut into thin slices
Hot pepper sauce to taste
Lemon juice 2 tbsp
Worcestershire sauce 1 tbsp
Hot chilli sauce 1 1/2 tbsp
Paprika powder 1 tbsp
Ginger / garlic paste 1 1/2 tsp
Green chilli paste 1 1/2 tsp
Boiled noodles 1 pkt
Capsicum; sliced 2 large
Spring onions; finely sliced 2
Carrots; sliced 2
Cabbage; chopped 1/2 of a medium head
Salt to taste
Oil 2 tbsp + 1 tbsp
Methods/stepsCombine the chicken with lemon juice; pepper sauce; Worcestershire sauce; hot chilli sauce and paprika and leave for 35 minutes. Heat oil and fry ginger/garlic and green chilli paste till it becomes light brown. Add marinated chicken and the marinade. Stir constantly for a few minutes on high heat till it boils. Then simmer until chicken becomes tender and water dries. Add 1 spring onion and continue to fry on low heat for a few more minutes. Remove from heat. In a shallow saucepan; heat 1 tbsp cooking oil and fry all vegetables on medium heat. Do not over cook. Add boiled noodles and salt; mix well; stir on high heat for a few minutes. To serve; spread noodles and vegetables in a large dish. Put the chicken with gravy in the centre of dish; sprinkle with chopped spring onion; serve hot. Reviews |
