Chana dal 100 gms Moong dal 100 gms Ginger 1/2 piece Lemon 1 Grated coconut 1/4 Curry and coriander leaves a few Green chillies 4 Sugar 1/2 tsp Salt to taste Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp Red chilli powder 1 tsp Asafoetida a pinch Juice lemon 1 Scraped coconut 1/2 cup

Methods/steps

Soak the daIs for 4-5 hours. Then grind them finely and beat well. Add salt; turmeric powder; ground ginger and green chillies. Steam the dough like dhokla. Then break it into small pieces with fingers. Heat oil and fry mustard seeds and cumin seeds; asafoetida; chilli powder and curry leaves. Add the broken dal pieces in it and cook well. When ready; add the sugar; lime juice; and remove. Add chopped coriander and grated coconut before serving.
