Apples 1 kg
Butter 25-50 g
Methods/stepsCream butter or margarine in a large bowl; add sugar and beat well. Add apple sauce; a little at a time; beating well till all apple sauce is consumed. This may curdle a little. Gradually add flour; nutmeg; cinnamon; soda and blend well. Add vanilla essence and the nuts and raisins that have been sprinkled with flour to prevent them from sinking to the bottom while baking. Use an 8 inch baking tin. Bake in a preheated oven at gas mark 4/180? C for 45-60 minutes. Apple Sauce Direction: Peel; core and slice apples and cook in a covered saucepan to a pulp.
