Baked Masala PomfretIngredientsPomfret or plaice 1 large
Tomatoes 2 ripe
For stuffing:
Onions 2 large
Green chillies 1
Coriander leaves a small bunch
Ripe tomato 1 large
Turmeric powder a pinch
Melted jaggery 1 tsp
Water ? pint
Salt and lemon juice to taste

Methods/stepsClean the pomfret and make a slit in one side. Wash thoroughly and rub all over with salt. Then prepare the stuffing. Chop the onions; chili; fresh coriander and tomato finely. Heat a little ghee in a pan; put in the turmeric. Then add chopped chili and coriander and fry for a while put in onions; frying them till brownish. Add tomato; jaggery; water; salt and lemon juice to taste. Cook until the mixture thickens and all the liquid is absorbed. Then wipe the fish dry and pack the stuffing in. place fish on a greased pie dish or baking tin and arrange slices of tomato on and around it. Bake in a moderate oven until cooked; reckoning 12 minutes cooking time to each lb. of fish. Reviews |
