Cabbage Dalna with ShrimpsIngredientsCabbage 1 medium
Shrimps 8 oz
Onions 2
Coriander seeds 1 tsp
Cumin seeds 1 tsp
Cloves garlic 3
Dry red chilies 6
Ginger 1 piece
Small cardamoms 2
Cloves 3
Cinnamon 1 inch stick
Turmeric powder 1 tsp
Curd or yogurt ? pint
Mustard oil or ghee
Salt or sugar to taste
Methods/stepsMake a smooth paste of the coriander; cumin seeds; garlic; chilies and ginger. Slice 1 onion; make a paste of the other. Shred the cabbage very fine and set aside. Heat some oil in a frying pan and fry the cleaned shrimps well. Remove and drain. In the same oil fry the sliced onion till well browned. Add the spices and paste and brown well. Add cabbage and fry for 5 minutes stirring constantly. Now add the beaten curd; cover and cook till the water is almost absorbed. Then add the cardamoms; cloves; cinnamon and turmeric; and lastly the shrimps. Add sugar and salt to taste and cook till the mixture is thick. Reviews |
