Beast of mutton 1 lb Ghee 1 dessertspoon Coconut 1 large grated Grind to a fine paste: Dry red chillies 4 Cloves garlic 4 Mustard seeds 1 tsp Coriander 1 dessertspoon Turmeric 1/2 inch piece Onion 1 large Ginger 1/2 inch piece Dry curry leaves a few Cumin seeds 1 dessertspoon Salt 1 tsp or to taste

Methods/steps

Cut the meat into small cubes. Extract the milk from the coconut with only 2 tbsp hot water. Set this aside and extract the second milk using 1 pint hot water.Boil the meat in the milk together with the ground ingredients and salt. Then the meat is tender; remove it from the gravy. Fry it in the ghee. Then put it back into the gravy. Simmer for further 5 minutes. Serve with boiled rice and slices of lemon.
