Dry red chillies 30
Peppercorns 1 tsp
Mustard seeds 1 tsp
Fenugreek seeds 1 1/2 tsp
Coriander 2 dessertspoons
Turmeric 1 inch piece
Cloves of garlic 14
Green chilies 10
Small onions 13
Ginger 1 piece
1 sprig curry leaves
Tamarind (1 dessertspoon soaked in a little hot water)
Oil
Salt to taste
Methods/stepsFry and grind the pepper; mustard; fenugreek; coriander and turmeric and set aside. Grind the red chilies to a paste. Heat enough oil in a pan and fry a few curry leaves and tamarind; add finely chopped onions; crushed garlic and ginger; the red chili paste and the green chilies cut into small pieces. Place the prawns in this; then add the ground spices and salt to taste; and enough water to cover the prawns. Cook until water is absorbed and the prawns are tender. Reviews |
