Mango, Cardomom & Chilli IceIngredientsRipe sweet mangoes (peeled, stoned) 5 large
Crushed cardomom seeds 1 tsp
Chilli powder 1/4 tsp
Light vanilla yogurt 200 ml
Fresh curries(optional) to serve
Methods/stepsPlace the flesh of the mango in a food processor with the cardomom seeds, chilli powder and yogurt. Blend until smooth, then tip the contents into an ice cream maker and follow the manufacturer's instructions. If you don't have an ice cream maker, place the contents in a freezer proof container, cover and freeze for 2-3 hours. Using a fork, break up the crystals that form towards the side of the container and stir to break up the mixture. Repeat this step four or five times until the mixture is smooth and firm. Cover and freeze until ready to serve. Remove the ice cream from the freezer 10-15 minutes before serving and then scoop it into short dessert glasses or bowls and serve with wedges of fresh mango or fresh cherries if desired. Reviews |
